Depok, July 23, 2024 – Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School’s Campus B was buzzing with energy on Tuesday afternoon as students gathered in the Masjid Kuwait Al Wafi for the second day of Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Pesantren (MPLP), or Boarding School Orientation. After Asr prayers, a special Pencak Silat demonstration was held for the new seventh and tenth-grade students.
The event began with a performance showcasing Pencak Silat moves demonstrated by the coaches and members of the extracurricular group. The swift and powerful moves captivated the new students. Not only were they spectators, but they were also encouraged to participate and try a few basic Pencak Silat techniques, which they eagerly embraced. This interactive engagement added a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere to the event.
In addition to the Pencak Silat demo, the second day of MPLP included several other valuable activities: tahsin (Qur’an recitation refinement), hiwar (conversation practice), and an introduction to the vision and mission of Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School. The tahsin session aimed to improve the students’ Qur’an reading skills, while hiwar sessions helped new students enhance their language proficiency. In the vision and mission session, students gained a deeper understanding of the goals and values upheld by Al Wafi.
With a range of engaging and beneficial activities, the second day of MPLP at Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School provided a memorable experience for new students, helping them bond with their new environment and preparing them for their journey in the boarding school.
