Depok, September 25, 2024 – The 14th Multaqo of the Association of Indonesian Islamic Da’wah and Education Institutions (PULDAPII) was officially opened at Al-Wafi Islamic Boarding School. The event gathered over 230 participants from 80 member institutions of PULDAPII from across Indonesia. Attendees enthusiastically sang the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, marking the opening of the event.
Distinguished Guests in Attendance
Several notable guests attended the event, including Dr. Yassir Mohamed Ali, Sudan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, who expressed full support for PULDAPII’s mission to strengthen Islamic education in Indonesia. The event also featured remarks by Sheikh Ahmad bin Isa Al Hazimi, Religious Attaché at the Saudi Arabian Embassy, who delivered the opening speech.
Welcome Address by the Host and Chairman of the Al-Sudai Indonesia Foundation
The second speech was given by Ustadz Dr. Ali Saman Hasan, host and advisor of the Al-Sudai Indonesia Foundation. In his speech, Dr. Ali highlighted three key points central to this Multaqo:
- Improving the Quality of Islamic Education
He emphasized the importance of reforming educational institutions under PULDAPII, stressing the need for graduates who possess not only a strong religious foundation but also the skills to navigate modern challenges. - Strengthening Digital Da’wah in the Information Age
Amid rapid technological growth, Dr. Ali encouraged all participants to utilize digital platforms to broaden the reach of Islamic da’wah, identifying digital outreach as a critical tool for adapting to contemporary dynamics. - Synergy Among PULDAPII Member Institutions
He underscored the importance of synergy among PULDAPII institutions. Strong collaboration and coordination, along with support from economic and social departments, are expected to help the organization make a tangible impact on the community.
The Importance of Strengthening Islamic Education and Da’wah
The next speech was delivered by Ustadz Aslam Muhsin Abidin, Lc., Chairman of PULDAPII. He stressed that, while PULDAPII may not yet be widely known, the organization holds significant potential in education and da’wah.
Ustadz Aslam emphasized that one of the major challenges is maximizing the potential of each PULDAPII member pesantren. He also highlighted the need for clear educational pathways for graduates, enabling them to pursue higher education in Islamic studies.
Additionally, he addressed the issue of bullying, which is often prevalent in educational institutions. A specialized mentoring curriculum is essential for managing such issues effectively.
Three Core Philosophies of Organizational Success
Dr. KH Agus Hasan Bashori, Chairman of the PULDAPII Board of Trustees, underscored three core organizational values for success: loyalty, commitment, and spirit. He stressed that PULDAPII leaders should recognize the importance of these values and actively implement them in carrying out their organizational responsibilities.
Official Opening by a Representative of the Depok City Government
The 14th Multaqo was officially inaugurated by Asep Wisnu Nugraha, Chief of Pengasinan, representing the Depok City Government. In his speech, he conveyed the local government’s appreciation and support for PULDAPII’s initiatives. Asep Wisnu expressed his hope that this Multaqo would significantly contribute to enhancing the quality of Islamic education in Depok, and in Indonesia as a whole.
With its agenda and strategic discussions, the 14th PULDAPII Multaqo is expected to serve as a vital platform for strengthening synergy among Islamic educational institutions and promoting innovations in da’wah, both through conventional and digital means.
