Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School, Campus A (Banat), has once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing literacy culture through creative activities on Friday, October 4, 2024. One of the initiatives undertaken is the morning literacy program, which adopts a new approach involving the use of scrapbook media.
This literacy activity is part of the school’s literacy movement aimed at fostering reading interest and writing skills among the students. The students are not only encouraged to read but also to create summaries of the books they read. By using scrapbooks, they can express their creativity through images, notes, and illustrations that depict the content of the books.
The activity involved all female students and teachers, who actively participated in each stage of the process. They practiced organizing information systematically, critically, and reflectively, while also enjoying the learning process.
Enthusiasm was evident in the students’ active participation in creating interesting and unique scrapbooks. Each piece produced reflects their understanding of the readings as well as their ability to combine visual elements with written information.
Through this initiative, Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School continues to strengthen the literacy culture among its students while also developing their creative and analytical thinking skills. Literacy greetings from the students and teachers at Al Wafi!
