The pesantren education system has become a popular choice for parents seeking to instill character in their children in accordance with the teachings of the Al-Qur’an and Sunnah while maintaining a positive outlook on globalization.
Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Ahmady, a lecturer in Islamic Jurisprudence at the Islamic University of Madinah (UIM), visited Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School to share his insights. This event, held on September 30, 2023, at the Nida’ul Islam Mosque on Campus B of Al Wafi, was attended by the students and led by Ustadz Ryan Hidayat, Lc., the Mudir of male students.
During the event, student Mirza from class XI posed several questions to Professor Al Ahmady, who shared several pieces of advice, including:
- The Importance of Learning the Al-Qur’an and Sunnah: Professor Al Ahmady emphasized the significance of understanding the Al-Qur’an and Sunnah, warning against the dangers of wasting time and not utilizing it wisely.
- Conditions for Acceptable Actions: He outlined two essential conditions for the acceptance of good deeds: (1) sincerity (ikhlas), and (2) adherence to the practices of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He cautioned that any act of worship lacking foundation in the Al-Qur’an and Sunnah risks being rejected.
- Advice for Students (Tholabatul Ilmi): He urged the students to honor and be dutiful to their parents and to make the most of their time in school or pesantren to study the Al-Qur’an and Sunnah, as this knowledge is vital for serving their parents.
